抄録	社会の縮小（シュリンク）に関するこれまでの思考や実践の多くは、それが完了した状態〈シュランク〉に注目し、発展・成長・達成という形式での完了―ユートピア―と縮小・衰退・消滅という形式での完了―ディストピア―とを対峙させる作業に終始してきた。それに対して、本諭文では、その現在進行形〈シュリンキング）に焦点をあてた。災害復興の基本指針として、従来のBulid Back Better (拡張•発展的復興）に対して、Save Sound Shrink (縮小・楽着的復興）を対置し、現在を、発展・成長・達成が完了した未来の時点を展望しながら見るのではなく、縮小・衰退・消滅が完了した未来の時点から遡及的に見ることの必要性を強調した。その上で、「まだ」来ぬ、したがって、「まだ」防ぎうる縮小・衰退・消滅を、あえて「もう」完了したものとして受けとめる「デイズ・アフター」の視点を導入することで、現在のコンサマトリーな機能を再浮上させるとともに、縮小・衰退・消滅と正面から対峙するインストゥルメンタルな機能にも好影響を与えようとする実践についても紹介した。
抄録	Conventional research on a shrinking society (population decline) has mainly focused on a controversial choice between “expansion (or utopia)” and “shrinking (or dystopia).” This paper, in contrast, focuses more on the shrinking process, by considering how we can shrink wisely. For this purpose, we propose a new disaster revitalization principle in a shrinking society, called Save Sound Shrink (SSS), replacing a standard and dominant principle , called Build Back Better (BBB）. In the SSS, we retrospectively look for guidance to adjust to a shrunk society in the future. Conversely, the BBB seeks to adjust to the present demographic trend by expanding society in the future. This paper also introduces a new narrative mode, called the “Days-After” mode, in which people are intentionally guided to talk about “not-yet-come” (future) drastic social shrink, as if it “has-already-come,” in order to magnify and reinforce both “instrumental” and “consummatory” functions of the present shrinking society.
