Part 1: Artificial Intelligence and Robots in Work and Transnational Families

This paper will explore how immigrants and refugees from East Asia who have moved abroad conserve the Confucian perspective on life and death and interpret their experiences accordingly. This article focuses on a memoir written by a Chinese Vietnamese woman living in Japan, whose title is “The Decade of the Vietnamese Refugee Girl”. Through the analysis of how the Confucian family morality and ethics are portrayed in the memoir, this paper will reveal that they were often strongly influenced by the Confucian perspective on the idea of the intergenerational succession of life, along with a positive evaluation of life and a pessimistic expectation of death.
