Abstract
In this article, I tried to show Abhimanyu Unnat’s literary importance and historical relevance of his novel LAAL PASEENA. (red sweat). This title's symbolic meaning is a combination of blood and sweat after hard work. After the abolition of slavery in 1833 Britishers started a new rule for migrant labourers to five years in Mauritius. Hundreds of thousands of Indians were taken to Mauritius in five decades. After reaching Mauritius all Indian labourers were forced to work in bad conditions. There were so many inhuman rules imposed on them. Abhimanyu Unnat has written 32 novels, 8 story collections, 4 poem collections, and many more books. His books are now very important documents of Indian migrant literature in Mauritius. In his all novels and other writing Abhimanyu Unnat presented history of migrant labourers in Mauritius. Apart from his focus about historical pain of Indian migrant labourers in Mauritius he has written poems and novels about present days problems in society.
