Abstract
本研究では、超域イノベーション博士課程プログラムのカリキュラムの一つである「海外フィールド・スタディ」によって、高度汎用力の涵養が行われるのかを調査することを目的とした。2023年度はマレーシア・サバ州において10日間の実習を実施した。研究対象者は10名である。高度汎用力の変化を見るために、「独創的な解決策を構想する力」などの10項目を5件法の自己評価で回答させた。また現地滞在中はその日の活動のふりかえりを目的に、毎日ふりかえりシートを配布し、記入を求めた。質問は「新たな発見や価値観の違い、興味の深まりについて」などの4項目であり、いずれも自由記述形式とした。高度汎用力についてはウィルコクソンの符号順位検定を行い、ふりかえりシートについては計量テキスト分析を行った。分析の結果、高度汎用力が上昇したという自己評価は認められなかったものの、毎日のふりかえりの記述から、学生たちは自身の生活や環境とは異なる国に滞在し、現地の方々と交流した経験を元に、新たな課題を見つけるためのスタートラインに立ったことが窺える。こうした実習の教育効果については、参加者による主観的な自己評価ではない、第三者による客観的な評価手法についても検討する必要があるだろう。
This study aimed to investigate whether the "Overseas Field Study," a component of the Cross-Boundary Innovation program curriculum, fosters advanced transferable skills. In 2023, a 10-day field study was conducted in Sabah, Malaysia, involving 10 participants. To measure changes in advanced transferable skills, participants completed self-assessments using a five-point Likert scale for ten items, including "the ability to conceptualize creative solutions." Additionally, during the field study, daily reflection sheets were distributed to capture participants' thoughts on activities. These sheets included four open-ended questions focusing on topics such as "new discoveries, differences in values, and deepening interests." For advanced transferable skills, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test was conducted, and for the reflection sheets, quantitative text analysis was performed. Analysis revealed no significant increase in self-assessed advanced transferable skills; however, daily reflections suggested that participants, through their experiences of staying in a different cultural and environmental setting and engaging with local residents, reached a starting point for identifying new challenges. To further evaluate the educational impact of such field studies, it will be necessary to explore objective assessment methods conducted by third parties, rather than relying solely on participants' subjective self-evaluations.
