Abstract
This paper is to clarify how interviews can be resumed after unexpected interruptions generated by children. Through a categorization and analysis of 44 cases of interruptions, two points are claimed: 1）in order to resume the interview, verbal（ discourse markers, small stories, repetitions, etc.） and non-verbal communication resources （gestures, eye gaze, bodily motion, etc.） are inevitably required, 2） small stories during the interruption have an essential role, which is one of the processes to lead the interaction to resume the interview. These points will be illustrated with some cases by empirical approach.
