Abstract
本稿は、戦前大いに活躍したにもかかわらず、現代では「忘れられた作家」となった加藤武雄に焦点を当てて、女性読者の誕生と大衆文学の発展に関してジェンダーの視点から研究をすすめるための史料の整理と、今後の分析枠組み案の提示を目的としている。筆者による＜女が読む小説＞についての一連の社会学的研究（木村（2004）、木村（2006）、木村（2010））を次の段階にすすめるための研究ノートである。
In modern Japan, both popular literature (taishu-bungaku or tsuuzoku-shosetsu in Japanese) and serious literature (jun-bungaku in Japanese) developed together with the mass media. The increase in educated and literate women led to the development of women’s magazines and popular literature for women. Many of the earlier writers for popular women’s magazines have been lost to history, as the ranking system in the world of literature put popular literature for women on an inferior level. This paper focuses on Kato Takeo as one of the forgotten popular writers for women’s magazines, listing his works into a special bibliography, and aiming to analyze the history of popular literature for women from a gender perspective.
