特集 : 宗教・障害・共同体―障害と共に生きることの宗教性
Abstract
優生思想は、私たちが「障害と共に生きる」ことを難しくしている。それはけっして一部の人々の偏った思想でも、過去の国家政策でもなく、私たちの日常的意識に深く浸透したものの見方に根ざしている。本稿では、優生思想が障害者を排除するだけでなく、私たちすべてを生きづらくしていることについて、いくつかの生命倫理問題に焦点を当てて解明する。そして、宗教の役割はそうした優生思想に対抗する「別のまなざし」を提示することにあることを論じる。
Eugenic thought makes it difficult for us to live with disability. It is not merely onesided thought believed by a few people and is not merely past national policies, but rather sinks its roots deep into our view of everyday life. In this paper, I clarify that eugenic thought decreases every person's value of life, not just of those with disability, focusing on some problems in bioethics. Finally, I argue that the role of religion is to provide an alternative view of life that goes against the prevailing eugenic thought.
