Abstract
This paper aims to describe the morphosyntactic features and basic usages of the middle voice marker ki³- in Tiddim Chin, a northern Kuki-Chin language of the Tibeto-Burman linguistic family. In Tiddim Chin, verbs with the prefix ki³- express reflexivity, reciprocity, and other linguistic features typically found in the category of middle voice (Kemmer 1993). Based on written texts and interviews with a native speaker, this primary report seeks to elucidate the grammatical conditions wherein the prefix ki³- occurs in the narrative style (Henderson 1965) of modern Tiddim Chin.
