Abstract
In this study, we investigate a previously developed cognitive-behavioral traits scale, with two primary objectives: first, to confirm the scale’s content validity, and second, to develop a prototype of a shortened scale. To accomplish these goals, we worked with 22 psychiatric patients, who took the WAIS-III intelligence test and participated in a questionnaire survey. We subjected the collected data to a correlation analysis. The analysis uncovers significant correlations between multiple items and variables from the intelligence test, thereby affirming a degree of content validity for the scale. Based on these correlation results, we developed a prototype version with seven items that exhibit moderate intercorrelations. Given their relation to diverse variables, this prototype provides a simple, efficient tool for individuals to evaluate their traits and determine if an intelligence test is necessary.
