Abstract	After the reformation in the 80's in China, System theory has been adopted into various fields of natural and social sciences. In the case of Ecology, the methodological influence of System theory has given a new insight to the study, known as System Ecology. In China,System Ecology was first put forward by Professor Ma Shijun, the late president of Society of Ecology. He has established the framework of System Ecology, whose subjects of study include not only natural phenomena,but also the social and economical factors. He was aimed at indicating the way how each element should be treated in analysis. His main concept, SENCE (Social-Economic-Natural Complex Ecosystem) has become one of the most important ideas of System Ecology studies. This article is to introduce several studies written by followers of prof. Ma, in an sttempt to reveal the situati on of current System Ecology studies in China.
