Abstract	This is a report on my teaching of the BBA ‘Philosophy and Logic’ course at the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. I taught the first half of this course, the logic part, as a visiting professor for seven weeks from August to September 2009. In my class with both Thai and European students, I tried to stimulate students’ critical thinking ability by means of the art of dialectical questioning. I observed a significant difference in reaction between Thai and European students: Thai students tend to stick to ‘correct’ answers which they assume will be provided by teachers, while European students look for alternatives. Critical thinking education needs to become adjusted to the Asian teaching climate where teacher-student relations involve a stronger power relation.
