Abstract
デルタシグマ型ディジタル/アナログ変換器に用いる循環型部分的DWA (Rotated Partial DWA: RPDWA)手法を提案する．提案するRPDWAでは，大振幅信号入力時における出力信号の非線形性を低減するために，既存のPDWA (Partial DWA)において固定されていた非選択アナログ素子を順番に変更することで循環させる．更にトーンを抑制するために，デルタシグマ変調器からの入力信号に応じて非選択素子数を一時的に増加させる．提案するRPDWAではこれら二つの動作を適用することで，高いSNDRと大振幅信号入力時のトーンの抑制を実現することができる．単位アナログ素子の性能ばらつきを1%と想定し，3次，9レベル出力のデルタシグマ変調器を用いたシミュレーションから，既存のPDWAと比べて最大振幅信号入力時に32.8 dBのSNDR改善と45.4 dBの帯域内トーン低減を確認した．
A Rotated Partial Data Weighted Averaging (RPDWA) technique for multi-level delta-sigma digital-to-analog converters is presented. In conventional Partial DWA (PDWA), a part of the analog elements are not used to avoid periodic element selection. The presented technique rotates the unused elements to reduce output nonlinearity and temporarily increases the number of the unused elements to suppress in-band tones. Simulation result using RPDWA and a third order 9-level delta-sigma modulator with 1% analog element mismatch shows 32.8 dB SNDR improvement and 45.4 dB in-band tone suppression at full-scale input, compared with the result using PDWA.
