Abstract
本稿では、日本国内のある公立小学校における中国ルーツのCLD児童たちを対象とした継承語教育の実践について報告した。本実践は、「マルチリンガル環境におけるリテラシー獲得の教育的枠組み」(Cummins,2009) 及び「プロジェクト・ベース学習」(Newell, 2003) を理論的基盤としたものである。本実践のうち、5年生9名を対象に実施した授業を分析し、また、この子どもたちの2年半の中国語能力の変化を対話型アセスメントにより調査したところ、全ての参加自児童に中国語力の伸びが見られ、実践の有益性が確認された。また、本実践に対する考察により、日本の公立学校における継承語教育を可能にする要因として、1) 教育委員会の予算措置、2) 継承語を重要視する学校風上、3) クラス運営に対する教員の主体性、4) 母語話者支援者の知識と適性、5) 外部からの専門的支援、6) 関係者の連携と協働の6つが導き出された。
This paper reports on a practice followed by Chinese heritage language education in a public elementary school in Japan.This practice is theoretically based on the "Literacy Engagement Pedagogical Framework" (Cummins, 2009) and "Project-Based Learning" (Newell, 2003) concept. By analyzing the classroom interaction of nine fifth-grade Chinese pupils and the measurement of their change over 2.5 years in Chinese language proficiency using Dialogic Language Assessment, it was found that all students have significantly improved their Chinese proficiency, and the effectiveness of this practice has been proved. considering the factors that enable heritage language education in the public elementary school in Japan,the following were found important: 1) the budget measure of the school board; 2) school climate, which considers heritage language to be valuable; 3) teacher's initiative and leadership in class management; 4) knowledge, skill, and aptitude of native-speaking teachers; 5) support from heritage language education specialists; and 6) coordination and cooperation among relevant individuals.
