Abstract
本研究の目的は一側性難聴のある人の経験を明らかにし、医療従事者としての支援の在り方について示唆を得ることである。一側性難聴のある成人を対象に、半構造化面接を行った。面接内容は逐語録としてデータとした。参加者は4名で全員20代、女性2名、男性2名であった。分析の結果、【コミュニケーションで困った経験と対処】、【一側性難聴であることへの認識】、【一側性難聴について他人の認識の受け止め】、【周囲への一側性難聴についての開示】、【周囲からの配慮や支援の経験と求める配慮】、【同じ境遇の人の経験を知る】、【一側性難聴の経験からの学びや人生選択】の7つの側面が明らかになった。この結果から、一側性難聴のある人はコミュニケーション等で困った経験をもっており、一見障害がないようにみえる状況であっても、周りのさりげない配慮がコミュニケーション等、円滑な人間関係の構築につながると考えられた。同時に、一側性難聴であることへの認識は様々であり、それぞれの認識に配慮しながら、関わることが重要であると考える。
This study aims to explore the experiences of people with unilateral hearing loss and offer insights for healthcare providers on effective support strategies. The authors conducted semi-structured interviews with adults experiencing unilateral hearing loss, and the interviews were recorded verbatim as data. There were four participants, all in their 20s, including two women and two men. The results of the analysis revealed the following seven aspects of their experiences: experiencing and dealing with communication difficulties; selfperception of having unilateral hearing loss; perception of others' ideas of unilateral hearing loss; disclosure of unilateral hearing loss to others; experiences of consideration and support from others and desired assistance; knowing the experiences of others in the same situation; and learning from the experience of unilateral hearing loss and life choices. The results imply that people with unilateral hearing loss have experienced difficulties with communication, and even in situations where there appears to be no disability, casual consideration by those around them can help build smooth communication and other human relationships. At the same time, people with unilateral hearing loss have different self-perceptions of their hearing loss, and it is important to be involved with them while considering their individual perceptions.
