Abstract
精神障がい当事者が認識する恋愛・結婚の障壁を明らかにすることを目的とし，当事者18名にフォーカスグループインタビューを行い，質的に分析した。その結果，当事者の恋愛・結婚の障壁として11のカテゴリが生成された。カテゴリは，【症状の影響による安定した関係の築きにくさ】や【恋愛・結婚の知識と経験を得る機会の不足】といった疾患の影響により当事者自身に生じている障壁や，【当事者であるパートナーの症状や不安から受ける影響】や【実家やパートナーの家族による反対】，【支援者の考えや施設のルールによる反対】など，パートナーや家族，支援者との関係性の中で生じている障壁があった。家族からの反対，結婚生活と高齢者介護の両立といった日本特有の障壁もあった。当事者のリカバリーを促進するために恋愛・結婚に関する支援が必要と考えられる。
This study aimed to identify perceived barriers to romance and marriage among persons with mental illness and conducted focus group interviews with 18 persons with mental illness. The categories included barriers arising from the disease itself, such as [difficulty in establishing a stable relationship due to the effects of symptoms] and [lack of opportunities to gain knowledge and experience in romance and marriage], and barriers arising in the relationship with the partner, family, and supporters, such as [influence from the partner’s symptoms and anxiety], [opposition by parents and partner’s family], [opposition from supporters’ ideas or facility rules]. Barriers specific to Japan included family opposition and efforts to care for elderly during married life. Support related to romance and marriage is considered necessary.
